Redesign of the site (including the navigation system) was done by Willa Madden in April 2005, in order to accommodate changes.

The original VALA website (the archived site can be seen here) was designed and created in the spring of 2003 by Bernie Lenhoff, based partially on the VALA print brochure design and structure.

The VALA website is best viewed at an 800x600 resolution or above, and was tested with recent versions of Internet Explorer and Netscape/Mozilla for both Windows and Mac OS. For better performance, we recommend AOL users use one of these browsers instead of AOL's built in browser, which is quite sluggish by comparison. Since the site uses Javascript, if you experience problems, we recommend upgrading to a later version of your web browser.

The font used in the navigation buttons is Orator. The site was composed on a Macintosh using mostly the Adobe applications GoLive, PhotoShop, and ImageReady, as well as GraphicConverter and BBEdit Lite.
